Happy 2019 Working Group! We have several new updates to share with you in the New Year! First, Kelsey is taking a new position with the City of Albuquerque as their new Sustainability Officer and will be leaving early January. Economic Policy Director Grant Taylor will be managing the project for the time being, please direct emails and questions to Grant Taylor at grantt@nmfirst.org. As we transition, please bear with us! UNM BBER Ag Loan Access Survey

  • Commissioned to analyze the market for local agriculture loans in New Mexico and are gathering information about agricultural business' financing needs, availability of financing, and other related information
  • Please share this survey with farmers and ranchers -- the results will help provide information to foundations and state leaders on how to better support economic programs for farmers and ranchers. Survey in Spanish available here.

The OneUSDA Internship Program

  • Now offering internship positions with USDA to gain on-the-job experience, mentorship, in the areas of: Veterinary Science, Biological Sciences (e.g., natural resources management forestry, wildlife biology, fish biology, ecology, botany, rangeland management, recreation) Engineering, Agribusiness, Contracting, Procurement, Industry, General Administration and Office Support
  • Students can apply for an internship at http://www.usda.gov/Internships – the deadline to apply is January 18th.
